Security Token question
Ok, that may be a completely dumb question. If so, please forgive me :)
I wanna use the Security Token one-time password. If necessary I'll put it on my phone and use it from there, though that's a bit clunky.
What I have is one of those Security Tokens back from my SWTOR CE, it looks fairly identical to the SE one, except it says SWTOR on the front.
I don't wanna try to use it, in case I can't get into the game at all anymore then, but does this one work with FF14, or are there game-specific codes programmed inside, so that I can't use one for the other?

That will not work because it is programmed for swtor not ff14.

You will have to buy a token from SE in order to use is here, just go to http://www.square-enix.com/na/account/otp/ to get one ordered.

The coding algorithm would likely be different in the SWTOR key and not work for Square Enix, but SE does have a Software Token app for both iOS and Android that is provided free of charge. The physical keys recently went through a price change, and I am not sure about the current price at the moment. But you can find the information about security and software keys at: https://secure.square-enix.com/account/app/svc/otpTop

The one-time password registration using the soft token (app installed on our smartphone) is straight forward. Highly recommend to spend 5 minutes to set this up.
Make sure you note the "Token Serial number" and the "Emergency Removal Password" when this is all completed. This is just in case you loose, damage or reset to factory settings your smartphone.

Yes, as I said, I'll use the phone app, if the SWTOR one doesn't work. It's just more convenient to use that little thing, but I'll not spend $10 dollars on it. I registered the app and it works fine.
And yes, SWTOR one wouldn't work, it generates 8 digit keys while SE uses 6 digits.
