Finally Reached 50 - Equip Guidance?

Hey everyone,

I just got to 50 today and completed the storyline. There's sort of a lot of different paths to work, but instead of working on a 2nd class I figured I'd work my PLD for a bit. I just...don't really know a lot of etiquette for endgame dungeons or trials. I tried to doing Amdapor Keep twice today and we kept failing at the demon wall. :( I really wanted to complete it for my GC quest so I could finally get that nice lvl 50 sword, but do I need to get darklight gear to properly compete in that dungeon? Do I need darklight gear for all the hard mode primal fights? Is it ok to work on my relic after getting that gear or do I need the even higher lvl gear?

I know there's not an absolute either way, but I find myself trying to figure out how to best obtain philosophy stones to get the gear I need. I don't want to show undergeared to things, though.

Just grind Amdapor or anything that will get you Darklight and level 60 greens. You can also do Ifrit HM, just make sure you understand the fight and are competent enough to interrupt eruptions. I personally think Ifrit is a bit of a waste of time though unless you get lucky with your weapon drop. The Ifrit weapons are a very small improvement over the GC weapons and aren't worth spending a ton of time on (and with a 1/9 chance you could end up wasting a lot of time)

The tanks gear has very little to do with success in Amdapor keep, especially on Demonwall. There is almost no tank damage that fight. The last fight can be a little tricky on tank damage if a healer has to kite an orb, but PLDs have enough cool downs that you shouldn't have a problem with a decent healer.

Get in all 55+ gear before stepping foot in HM Garuda.

I have the same question, I'm kind of lost after I got to 50 and finished my main quest.

Are there any other suggestions other than AK?
Because I know lots of people do speed runs on it and I have zero experience about it. ( I did watch some videos though )

I got my Ifrit weapon but I'm still wearing full AF with the darklight belt.

How about the Palace?
