I'd like to be in-game when the servers come up in an "hour" but my patcher has 0 remote connections and only 10 local connections. My download speed gets up to abour 300-400 kb/s for about 5 seconds and then immediately plummets to 0 for the next 10-15 minutes. It's quite frustrating. I wish SE would make a reliable patcher as a patch. Does anyone else feel this way, or know of a way to actually speed it up?
People still use SE's patcher? Wth...
Well considering it usually takes a while for utorrent or other clients to get it, SOME people actually have to download from SE themselves. So yes. Unless you magically know some place to get it RIGHT as the servers go down.
Its various people. Patcher never sucks for me.
This has been a problem since alpha and i think a community rep posted in another forum that they will look at it some time, right now the only ways to fix it are port forwarding and to use Utorrent, however I talked to SE about Utorrent and they did say it is against the EULA to use it although it gives no advantage except getting the update faster.
patcher is sucking for me right now too(stuck at around 70%) but im also downloading it on 2 computers(2nd ones stuck at around 27%)
but what ive noticed is that it does it mainly during certain parts of the download, where it will speed up on many of it especialy near the end.

Mine is frozen at 77.6% right now with 1 local connection.
I haz 9 local and 2 remote.
11 local, 3 remote.
Yeah, mine is stuck at 62.3. I love downloading things at 0 bytes a second! Guess I may as well take a nap for the next 3-5 hours so I can at least play it tonight...
