Why isn't there a Mute/Blacklist option on the chat window anyway? If there's gonna be ANY abuse of the system, it's going to be there, and the Gil Sellers are rampant!
PLEASE. DO. SOMETHING!!

I agree and this is a major issue for probably every server and in every starting city right now even on molboro u'dah has 4 gil seller shouts spaming the same area where are the gms? they need to be posted in these locations banning them and for people being hack I recommend you get Avast Spybot Search and destroy and Malwarebytes for free and use a token this stop them getting your account infomation
Until they implement a right-click -> blacklist, you can make this macro to blacklist whoever just whispered you:
/blist add <r>
Not quite as good, but it's better than digging through menus and typing out one of those crazy names.
I just want to throw this into the mix. Blizzard sued one group of these chat spammers, peons4hire, years ago, and got a permanent injunction against their activities. Maybe Square could do something similar? It seems to be one or two webpages driving us nuts.
After this injunction, plus the filters and right-click block/report option, chat spam pretty much disappeared from WoW.
What I don't understand is why it wasn't implemented into the game from the get go. It's got to be in the works, but for goodness sakes, it's... it's just horrible having to fill up a blacklist with stupid names. I'm already close to 20, and that's 1/10th of the blacklist gone. What if I run out of room and I get a nasty NORMAL USER. Stupid Gil Spammers will have killed MY experience... Ugh.
