Is it just me...

... or does being a WHM at 50 just suck?
Various reasons for me saying that are:

1. Dispel takes ages to cast, costs tons of mana and has a long CD
2. Debuffs on e.g. Tank (for example 'disease' in Ampador Keep) appear somewhere inbetween all the normal buffs next to the tank's/group member's HP-bar
3. There seems to be a delay between interrupting/finishing a cast and actual movement - which is required in order to evade AoEs (or is that just a disadvantage of living in Europe whilst servers are in Canada?)
4. most tanks are impatient twats
5. a lot of DDs/DPS/whatever you call them hardly ever move and take debuffs and stuff
6. Stoneskin is useful in an 8-man group, not in a Light Party since you barely can buff someone during a bossfight
7. manaconsumption is in no relation to its healingpower/effectiveness - talking about using Cure 1 until Freecure pops to save up mana - yes, I do that already

I am actually really enjoying WHM. I advise you to find a nice Free Company to cut down the Pick up Groups via the Duty Finder. It's near impossible to find a good group through the Duty Finder. Maybe then you wouldn't get so many "impatient tanks".

Esuna takes 1 second to cast. The cast time has been cut down a lot since Beta.

I'm in Europe and haven't noticed any delays.

Again, the DD's/DPS staying in AoE etc is down to a lack of co-ordination because I am assuming you're using the Duty Finder.

Stoneskin is an extremely useful spell. Even in Light Parties. I cast it on my party before pulls, and if I have time/MP I cast on the tank before a big incoming attack. Stoneskin + Regen = <3. I also find casting Stoneskin on a Summoner Egi is useful for certain boss fights and it makes it survive longer. This makes SMN's in my FC very happy.

MP usage is really not that bad. Use Shroud Of Saints when available and it keeps your MP filling up nicely. Continue using your Free Cures when they pop. Also drink a Hi-Ether/Elixir when available for a little extra. Use +Piety food and if you have a Bard in your party ask them to use Mages Ballad if you're really struggling for MP.

Honestly I absolutely love playing WHM. Just make sure you utilize our tools. Don't forget about "Divine Seal" which increases our healing potency by 30%, and "Presence of Mind" which increases Spell speed. These can get us out of sticky situations. Of course "Benediction" is our big panic button.

0.98 seconds with a 2.45 seconds recast, mana cost of 186 - all of which makes for a rapid cleansing for minimal cost. For debuff stacks, such as Morbol breath attacks, I recommend using Presence of Mind and spamming like crazy.

As someone who lives and plays in Australia, latency and delay is something I've always had to deal with and adapt to. I don't notice this game being any more difficult than others, such as WoW or GW2, to avoid telegraphed attacks.

There is a shocking dearth of tanks across all servers. As such they are able to pick and choose their parties and tend to be somewhat impatient with less than perfection. Not all tanks are like this though, but I recommend finding a decent tank and becoming his buddy.

I completely disagree. I cast Stoneskin on my entire party, be it 4 or 8 player, before every pull. It is an amazing ability that saves me MP, allows the tank to establish aggro without my needing to cast Regen immediately and has saved many of those stupid DPS in my groups. As to casting mid boss fight, if the tank has Regen on (and they should at all times) it is no problem to throw a Stoneskin on them if you know a big attack is coming. Or, you can use Swiftcast and cast an instant Stoneskin.

I have no issue with MP consumption. Regen on tank(s) at all times, Cure on DPS and tank until Free Cure, which I don't even use every time as there's not always a need, as Regen is so effective. Shroud of Saints once my MP hits about two thirds of the bar and don't spam Cure if Regen will take care of the damage.

1. Dispel has no cd. It's just a global cooldown.
2. Debuffs have a downward arrow icon to separate them from buffs.
3. Watch the cast bar, once the cast bar is done and you were still in it, you're gonna get hit regardless of how it actually looks on screen.
4. Yes! But this isn't really directly a bad thing of being a WHM. But just a healer in general.

6. It is good for mitigating stuff early on before the bosses and may ease your mana pools a little bit.
7. I find pre-casting and canceling to just ready those spikes to be useful instead of waiting for damage to accumulate and mash out cures.

The delay for AoEs is more of an FPS issue then a Latency issue. As a WHM the only time I have MP issues is when people don't do their jobs and avoid the big bad red stuff.

Why do you need to cast esuna on demonwall?

If you don't get hit by the black zones, you have nothing to cleanse?

I spend the first two rappels using cleric stance and doing damage, only time I need to heal is in phase 2 with adds bashing tank while dps ignores...
