2 questions - Trash drops in dungeons/Cross-class skills

Hello folks,

A couple of questions have arisen and I'm wondering if anyone here can answer them.

I've been seeing in some dungeons, like Stone Vigil, some armour/weapon items drop that aren't green or pink and, quite frankly, never an upgrade for anyone.

Two theories: That they are to be used in some other way, maybe as a crafting ingredient, or, and this was put to me by someone I did a PUG with earlier, that the loot boxes are bugged and that those items are only meant to be given out if the area is not cleared.

Any ideas?

Secondly, for cross class skills, do they get more powerful if the class they're from is higher level or will they only get more powerful if the job/class using them increases in level.

i.e. A PLD slotting cure from CNJ, would the cure be any better if the CNJ was 50 than say 25 or is it based on what the PLD's level is?

If it's the ripped stuff, they had a recipe in 1.0 where you could restore it by crafting it with the correct crafting class.

The ripped/broken/old items are upgraded with crafting. If you manage to HQ them they are solid pieces of gear for the level of the item.
As for cross-class, PLD has a bit of healing potency 202 vs 131 on my DRG, basically this is the only boost to cure we get. It's not worth using in battle, if you need an emergency cure try and get someone to craft up some mega-potions for you.

As to the PLD and cure thing, it's not so much should PLD slot cure but an example - Essentially what I'm asking is if you're slotting skills from another class is there any benefit to levelling that class further. In my example, this would mean if as a PLD I wanted to slot cure and my CNJ is 15 would Cure on PLD gain anything if say I levelled CNJ to 30 or 50.
