For some reason, theres no sound when i play FF14 on the ps3.
You hear the music on the screen where you log in, then once you press play and it goes to the menu with start etc, theres no sound. Then once you play theres no sound either.
Ive checked all the settings and all the sound is on full.
Does anyone know why this is happening?
I had this problem yesterday. So I logged out and logged back in on a different world and everything was fine.
I posted to tech support but no one else replied so I thought I was the only one having this problem. Nice to know in not crazy!
It happened to me a few times in Costa Del Sol yesterday.
I have the same issue.
No sound in game (after login).
Occurances:
My main TV, Phase 3 and Phase 4: No problems (on main TV).
Early Access and Launch - 09/05/13: Did not test
09/06/13 to current (09/08/13): No sound in game (on main TV).
09/06/13 & 09/07/13: No problems on someone else's TV.
It is a problem between the PS3 and TV. I also get the screen cut off around the edges with my TV.
TV: Samsung DLP HLT5676S
PS3: CECH-4001B
I had no problems in beta Phase 3 and Phase 4.
Only bought game on 09/05/13.
Found fix.
The PS3 gets moved around a lot (bedrooms, livingroom, etc.). I reset up Audio Output Settings and it worked. Settings -> Audio Output Settings -> HDMI -> Automatic

I've had this several times, everytime it seems to kick in after I've been logged in for several hours. The sound effects go first and then the music. Only way to fix it is to re log.
I believe there are 2 different issues.
1. There is sound on logon screen only. No sound ever on character selection screen or while playing. A reboot or re-login will not fix. This is the issue I had and gave a (hopefully) fix for.
2. Sound starts out fine, but after a while playing, the sound starts to cut out. I have not experienced this at all and I have no solution except what others said.
I believe the OP's issue is #1.
I've had it few times. I just log out and restart the ps3 and works after.
