Steps:
During a local levequest "Camp Drybone Cares" -- while synthing the required items, my and all the other character models around me almost entirely vanished. Only thing that remains is the hair, eyes, and tails. Zoning did not solve the issue. Logging out showed the bugged character models at the character select screen. Logging in/out did not help. Restarting the client finally solved the issue.

Sorry to hear the visual trouble you were experiencing earlier, that really is quite odd. We appreciate you taking the time to post up all the details!
