fates/ guildhest if you havent done them yet, first time is supposed to net huge xp. chain xp killing mobs. prolly missed some ^^ hope it helped
As much as I hate to say it, sitting in a town and following the FATE train is the best way to level up a sub class. I found that out pretty quick when I started levelling another class after I got my ARC to 25. I had used all my Leve allowances, done the guildhests and all the sidequests in Gridania to level 25 or so. It was pretty slow going for my Thaumaturge until I joined the herd in the Quarrymill and zerged FATEs.
For me, the most efficient way for exp and not losing track of your gear on the way is this:
Place yourself in an area that suits your level and offers a wide range of FATEs. Queue for your highest level available dungeon. Find the mobs that are your level (there are always some!) and chain those. Keep the map open on your screen at all times and jump at any FATEs that pop up. This is keeping you busy and changes the pace every now and then since you'll be getting drops from the chained mobs and gear from the occasional dungeon runs.
Cheers!
Since i want to up both black mage and white mage, that's what i'm doing right now.
Main quest + Ul'dah area side quests on my thaumaturge. Sometimes i have to do some guildleves to finish a level, but usually doing the FATEs that i find on my way to the quests is enough.
Dungeons + Gridania area side quests on my conjurer. Since i can find groups really quickly with the conjurer i do all the dungeons as a healer. I find it quite fun, and it gives a reasonable amount of exp too (about 50% per run). And with the side quests, a few leves and FATEs, i can finish my levels really easily.
Basically i chose not to rush with my first class because i didn't want to run out of side quests for my second class. I guess that's a choice to make ...
