PS3 to PC

i bought a ps3 final fantasy XIV version. but would it be possible to download a client for PC and use the code from ps3 or something like that? thx for the help

No. You need to have the corresponding activation key for each platform and they differ - 12 digit PSN code for PS3 and 20 digit SE code for PC version.

From what I understand though, you can go from PS3 to PS4 when it comes out. If you wish to purchase one, that is. I am at least. I would love to play this on PC sometimes. I gets so infuriating when you need to type something or are tanking and have to quickly switch targets. I always get confused when I try to edit the interface, even with the direction of the forums help area.

Indeed - you can move freely from any platform to any other - PC to PS3 or vice versa as well as PC to PS4 or PS3 to PS4 and so on - just just need to (re-)purchase the game on each platform but you'll be able to still use the same sub as long as you'll register all the copies to the same SE service account and (as a benefit) for each registered copy you'll get additional 30 days of fre play time included so if you register PS3 and PC versions now you get 60 days in total and one you'll purchase and register the PS4 version you'll get another 30 days.

what if my bro bought a version for PC, would he be able to play with me if i were on ps3 and he on pc? like in a party? and would we need to be in the same world or just need to be on eachothers friends list?

I can't say for sure because the answer was somewhat vague. But I am pretty sure at least PS3 to PD4 will not require to by the game again.

Yes - all the platforms are playing together so you can indeed play on PC and someone else on PS3 or PS4. You need to be both on the same world / server otherwise you'll be even unable to add each other on the friend list.

And I can say for sure that it will. It was officially stated that you can transfer you characters and progress and use the same sub (on the same SE service account) but you'll need to purchase and register PS4 version of the game to be able to do that.

I am not really that bothered by it. If the game continues to impress me as it has been (you never know between now and two months) Then I will not mind doing it. The game is not $60.00 so I can overlook it.

Once you've activated an account you may use either the PS3 or Windows client to play. The Windows client is available for download on the the Loadstone.
