Im having so much difficulty with this quest. I cant find the bottle of solace anywhere. Honestly FFXIV ARR is awesome, but some quests are so unclear, its ridiculous. Can anybody help me?

Im having so much difficulty with this quest. I cant find the bottle of solace anywhere. Honestly FFXIV ARR is awesome, but some quests are so unclear, its ridiculous. Can anybody help me?
Once you actually initiate the levequest, the bottle of Solace will show up in your key items inventory section.
There should also be a very small icon for the item in the quest tracker for the levequest, next to the relevant step ("Use the bottle..." or something). Once you have the target targeted, you can click on that to use the item. It's small, but I always use that rather than screwing around with my inventory or adding the item to a hotbar.
Not sure how you'd interact with that icon with the controller UI, though.
I had been running around, trying to find this bottle only to find that that it's available in the inventory during the quest. Thanks for your help.
