nameplate draw distance (vram problem?)

I'm having trouble with nameplates displaying in crowded areas.

In Coerthas Central Highlands doing fates -- mobs and nameplates will not show up. The draw distance for nameplates appears to be based on the position of the camera. Doing fates there are probably 50+ players in the area at a time with 20+ pets. Of those I can maybe see 10-20 at a time.

Is there a way to increase the draw distance for them, or the number that will show up?

After watching my VRAM use for a while I'm thinking this is the source of the problem. The game appears to be capped at 1 gig. It doesn't matter where I go my VRAM use will not go above 1100MB. So I'm thinking the game is using 1 gig and other windows are using the rest. My graphics cards have 3 gigs of VRAM and usage varies between 50-70% at 60 fps cap. So, it shouldn't be a hardware issue. *edit* Maxing the graphics settings will cause the VRAM to go above 1 gig of use, but it doesn't fix the nameplate problem.

I have a 4 Gig 770 GTX and 3570K and most nameplates don't draw in populated areas. Not sure why it's coded the way it is, but as far as I'm aware there's no way to fix it as an enduser.

I wish they would make mobs displayed always in high people areas. Like in order of priority mobs>party>out of party people>rest. At behemoth and Odin with a lot of people you can not see the mob and if you can not see him you can not see his moves or aoe ranges.
