Resuming a relic reborn?

Hi, I started a relic reborn in 1.0
I had read we would be able to resume the quest from where we left off...

I was wondering how? I finished the main storyline and spoke to Rowena who lead me to the smith in Hymstril.

I'm being offered to undertake the relic of scholar, as it's my current job. I had started the relic bow...

Must I finish the new bard job quests, and speak to the NPC as a bard, and it will resume where I left off?

Or can I resume with any job and it will adjust to it?

Or am I overlapping the quest and its not resuming it at all?
