There is a vanity slot feature coming in the first major patch. It will allow you to pick which gear to display on your character and which you are actually wearing.
Sweet I can't wait, I admit that sometimes I get a new armour set and I dislike the apperence, wished the game had this system and went back to wearing the old armour set. Also to throw this out there can we please have some more armour variety? It's just the same skins recycled over and over and over, it's boring, most of them (IMO!) are ugly (mages cowl thing that removes your head gear looks like a bed sheet shoved over my toon) and it would be nice to have some kind of more aesthetic gear as you level rather than what you wore at lvl 10 but in a different colour...
Screw that. When can we dye EVERY piece of armor. There are some pieces that look fantastic, but no option to dye. No matter how cool a piece of gear looks, it's pointless if you can't dye your orange clown shoes.
Wtb guild wars 2 dye and transmuting system. Some of the gear looks awesome and I love mixing and matching but atm that's very hard, I would also like to get some nice colour palettes running but I can't if I can only dye one section.
Not any time soon then D:
Thank you.
And I agree that most armors look ugly and repeative. *Look at Discipline of War open chest shirt* >.>
Yes but you cannot dye every individual section, for example I have the velveteen cowl on atm, I can dye it, lets say, blue. But I can only dye the main section blue, not the small details, cuffs, collar etc, they will forever remain white. Same with my trousers, I can dye the top half blue but that bottom half will be forever brown.
The appearance options in this game are bar none the most disappointing thing about the game. There isn't nearly enough variety in the leveling game, which is funny. Because most MMO games the exact opposite is true. There is a MASSIVE amount of different armor and weapons, and once you hit the level cap, you become one with the clone army, with everyone wearing similar gear.
The Dye mechanics, and the lack of variety in the armor during leveling are something that need a dramatic overhaul. It's disappointing how much potential is there, but never used. Especially when you consider the crazy awesome armor designs found in the Final Fantasy universe itself.
Another thing worth mentioning. Gear found in dungeons should always have some unique look to it. It's ridiculous how similar everyone looks until you get artifact gear. Sure all of the Black Mages look the same, but at least the Black Mages aren't mistaken for Conjurers.
