90 day subscription items already in game?

So I've noticed a few people in game who already have their items from the 90subsription (eyeball mount, etc) ..how is that possible? :confused:

Game cards I believe.

It would because they bought game cards.

I can't find gtc locally in Austin anywhere. I wonder when they are going to release them to the retailers. Have they really released them already?

Basically if you live in North America you will not get the veteran reward until after the free trial period is over.

Ultimate Game Cards would be them. I've seen somewhere on these forums that they aren't gonna sell specific XIV ones in NA.

eta: You can convert them to Crysta, just so it isn't like "oh god that cat girl on the internet lied to me", it's just a little more roundabout and not just simple time addons.

Thank you for this post. So even if I had a gtc it still wouldn't apply time until after the free period because I'm in NA. Thank you for clearing this up.

Yes. You can, BUT, you won't get the items until the free trial has passed. While with game cards you get them right away.

Not if you're in North America. As posted above via the dev response, ultimate time cards in North America convert to Crysta, and crysta cannot be applied to your ffxiv sub until AFTER all free time is used up. This means that there is no way, if you live in NA, to get veteran items until your free time is up and you can actually apply the days to your account. If you look on the crysta subscription section of the account page, it will confirm this. It's all very confusing but I'm at least glad that we have an official response.
