I really can't understand, WHY THERE'S NOT A QUEUE SYSTEM?

Every MMORPG that I can think of has a queue system... WoW, GW2, Aion, even old ones like Lineage 2, Ragnarok, hell, even RUNESCAPE had a queue system.

Why in the name of Lucifer, Baphomet and Belzebub do we get a 1017 across our faces instead of a GODDAMN QUEUE SYSTEM?

WHY?

Nor Yoshi-P nor EVERYBODY EVER, EVER commented on the issue, don't they even PLAN to add a queue system to the game? this is BEYOND absurd. People need to resort to scripting and macroing to try and be LUCKY to log in the exact microsecond a spot opens and grabe it before anyone else?

Why can't the game handle this for me? EVERY GAME OUT THERE DOES IT, WHY NOT FF14? WHY?

PLEASE SOMEONE RESPOND!!! I want to see some indication, ANY indication that Square is looking into this... They CANNOT ignore this issue forever. A queue system is the BARE MINIMUM expected of ANY MMO...

Put a queue system. 90% of the problems are temporary solved. What are you waiting for??

There is a queue system. It just never seems to work until you're like 50 in queue.

The reason the queue system doesn't work is because they artificially choke the number of people that can be in the system. From what they have said previously, essentially too many people sitting in the queue causes issues with the server which in turns creates a number of other problems.

Their solution to this was to artificially limit how many people could be queued up at one time, thus causing people to get the 1017 error where it boots them out without them getting into the queue. So in essence, their infrastructure is simply bad because it can't deal with the number of people they are experiencing. They increased the amount each server could hold online and added a couple of servers in order to help reduce the amount of people that would normally be sitting in the queue. The problem is that what they added probably doesn't come close to making up for the number of people that have been having to wait outside the game, so even with the new capacities, they still have too many people that would wait in queue, so they artificially limit it again.

Wish people would read they said THEY LIMITED THE QUEUE SYSTEM for a while

A simple visit to the Lodestone would help most people posting these duplicate topics.

Regarding login problems and 3102...read this. it should be noted that although 3102 is an error message that can have multiple causes, this was a problem during Beta 4, and was resolved, so it is something that should not take long to rectify, though it may necessitate a short maintenance - as it did during the beta.

Regarding 1017, world is full and all manner of login restriction;

So basically the queue system isn't working because of the reasons I mentioned. Thanks for supporting my post.

Neither of this info sys anything about this simple question:

"Why, upon trying to login, you get a 1017 instead of being put in a queue"?

"Putting up login restrictions" means exactly that they don't have a queue system, that automatically logs in people as other people log out of the world. Like what happens with every MMO in existence. The big question to ask here is exactly this... WHY don't they have such queuing?

That which you posted is just as good a speculation as mine... Can you point out anything they ever said that mentions the word "queue"? They only talk about "login restrictions" and that 1017 means you tried to log into a full server.

They never said a single word about how this queue works. From what I can see, that "queue" is just a login processor that pushes people into the world as to handle multiple people trying to login at the same time. It has NOTHING to do with handling the world's population nor it has any kind of real queuing control to let people in as people log out.
