Hello Adventurers, would-be adventurers, good people, bad people, lovers, haters, and lastly, the black and white knights of the forum.
I would love to ease your frustrations since I know a little bit of something about most types of errors that might help put some minds at ease. I have been doing mostly that for the past 8 days now-- replying to a whole lot of people, mostly via PM; all the while I myself have been very patient with SE and never really complaining here at the forums.
Did not send them a ticket, either. I figured that hey, there is this other guy in another part of the world that needs support as bad as I do. I feel proud of being one of the 'white knights'. Sadly my patience is waning and I am feeling that pang in my heart to rage at any moment.
Like a Christian being assaulted by a psycho-scientist with a lightning prod screaming hysterically while spit-spewing all over my face, 'Where is your God now!?' as he sticks it up my... *sigh* Truly, I am very tired. I took a leave of absence at work, filed it properly 3 months before, saved money, bought food and supplies for a whole week, I even made sure that I finished all of my work so no one would bother me. All of this so I could play this game.
You might see my level to the right as 26, but that is due to the literal 5-10 hour button mashing extravaganza to get into the servers with the occasional checks I do at the forums for error fixes brought to light by the lovely community who seem to be fixing more things than I could see from Square Enix.
I must have gone through all sorts of errors. If someone experienced it, I might have too:
Unable to patch after maintenance? YES.
Couldn't get the launcher to finish patching? Yep.
Couldn't get the launcher to log in? Yep!
Couldn't get the launcher to... launch? YES!
Error 90000? Oh, yes!
Error 2002? Ha-hah! Oui! *
Error 3102? ZOMG Yesh!
Error 30413? LOL, I had that when I was a baby.
Error 10009? Psh, dis I got!
Error 10019? Is the world round? Yes.
Error 101020? No... GOTCHA! I had you there! But yes, i got this too.
Error Mexicano!? Si Señor.
And so much more!
But even with all that, I do what is good. Because I believe in good. I log out. So that other people can log back in. This is not to jab at the people who are online AFKing, no. This is to point out that even after all of the 'hard work' I had put myself through for a mere 3-5 hour playing session, I had not complained. Nope, never did. I never sent a ticket to support either. Given the choice, I would play for 15 straight hours! But no. By that time I get in more than half of my energy is lost.
I'm the type of guy that would rather never voice his opinion against any person or group of people. I just take them as it is and learn to live with what I have; making most of it by helping other people, clowning around, and try other things that take my mind off the issue.
A good example of this is what happened on early access. I could not get into the NA/EU servers. I was able to create a character but the issues with the regional servers disappearing and all prompted me to go to JP and just make the most of my time there. I got attached to my character and decided that this is where I'll stay. Sadly, most of my "most of my time" got spent outside of the game. See what I did there? Ahahahoho Ah-hyuk! :P
But today, I just got tired. My vacation is up and I have to go back to work in 12 hours. I was looking forward to the update -- I was very hopeful that SE would be able to fix AT LEAST half of the issues I have encountered. They might have, I don't know. But one thing is for sure. I still am not able to log onto my server. I realize that SE is going to be giving out an extension of 7 days to all of the subscribers; this is good. But is it enough? At one point, I might have said yes and smiled. I would have even made it a point to combat the forces of Black Knights out there. But today, at this moment... Sauron is gripping my loyalty with a rope and beating it to submission.
I don't even know why I'm bitching now. I guess sometimes, I still need to mash some words on a computer screen to be heard and read by people who don't even know me and would probably flame me and point out my grammar lapses.
Maybe that will take my mind off the issue? Flame me oh ye pawns of Ifrit!! :(

We're the same bro, I also took a long vacation from work just to play this game, even went to a friend's house far from our house just so I wouldn't have to sit through the download because my ISP sucks.
Early access came, I was left alone while my friends rolled at Tonberry at BETA 4, fortunately for me, they were willing to re-roll to Tiamat. Launch came and 1017 dreaded everyone, especially the first weekend after the game came out. This was the first time that I had to wait this long just for a log-in.
At first I was like: "Yeah, 1017 affects us all so I'll just sit back here." but this is too much, an update for 10 hours and iirc, extensive testing by SE. My friends and most people I played with also stated that being in a queue no matter what the number was fine as long as they will get in and not get 1017'ed in the next few seconds or whatever number SE could muster up.
SE announced 7 days of free play time, play time that I would probably end up not enjoying because I will have to work again and I couldn't take a long break again after a few months. I was passive about the complaints from flamers and whiners, I tried my best to believe that SE was doing their best but I guess like you, Adamethius, it took its toll.
At this point and before the maintenance I attempt to log-in at around 10pm local time and if I get lucky I get as early as 10:30pm. Most of the times (like now), it is 1:05 am here and I am still sitting in front of my computer. I can't sleep because I already slept the morning off for the maintenance.
I just hope that finally SE will be able to put in a working queue, an auto-kick AFK timer and literally INCREASE the caps of online people on servers. Maybe, just maybe we will be able to play in peace.

I realized only now that there was a limit to character/letters you can put on a post on other forums and a daily limit on how many posts you can do there but here in Technical support, there seems to be no limit.
