Watching these have got me feeling this is what i would like FFXIV to offer everyday!

There needs to be something that excites you when engaging an enemy. At the moment FFXIV doesn't have this.

I miss that epic Final Fantasy experience!

For a good part i see a big guy smashing the terrain and charging. Nothing i should call "epic", or different from the buffalo. Battle animation are cool. But not really the encounter

Looking at the UI...... Wow clone AGAIN?! Everythings in the same damn place too. The battle looks nice and all, but games with developers who cant make their own stuff up dont deserve no props. Tho it isnt nearly as bad as what Rift did.. And a bunny tank is pretty cute.. and it doesnt look like it has auto attack either >.>.

It's a UI, there is gonna be some similar stuff. As for making your own stuff... XIV did it and look where we are now.
This post is going to get taken off and you will get a warning for promoting other MMO's so I'd take it down when you have the chance.

FFXIV's is different because it had other FF games to branch from, and every FF game will look and function different in some way. Rift... no predecessors, so it copied WoW. Tera... No predecessors, so it Copied WoW. The combat is obviously different and by the looks of it better in Tera, but when I look at it i see another WoW paste.

And if i know anything about korean MMO's it will probably be one of the 'gold means everything' and 'HUGE NUMBERS are awesome' styles, so you go to buy a weapon from a merchant and it will cost 23,472,299,299 gold.... and you will have to get 10,000,000,000 exp for one level, then add 5,000,000,000 for the next, as well as reduce exp gained for the next level. That kind of system is more likely to attract botters and gold sellers that WoW did. (Numbers are a bit exaggerated, but Aion looks JUST like that.)

Wonder what Guildwars 2 UI will look like. . .

Tera's boss encounter looks infinitely cooler and more fun, though I've sworn off of Korean MMOs because they're always ridiculous grinds.

We have a different meaning of cool.
Yeah, that boss is visually a badass. Thou, his moveset is kinda...stupid. All he do is stomping and dicking around with his shield, Great buffalo have almost an identical moveset. And isn't a boss, just a level 50 NM (and no, i don't deserve HNM to him)

What MMO is not a grind, whether you are grinding for gear or exp, its still grinding. Grinding is working towards a point you wanna be in the game, whether is to be max lv. or to have all the good gear. And since MMOs last forever, you would be doing that anyway.

The battle system is completely real time. How is that a Wow clone? O.o

My friend (who was at FF14 from launch, is an ardent defender of it, has multiple rank 50 jobs) who tried the Korean version of Tera says that the battle system is so fun that you actually want to grind.
