Endgame?

Hi all, I didn't want to post this in New Player Help and ruin anything for brand new players, but it may be a bit of a noob question.

My FC and I are all hitting 50 on our mains and a couple of us have started our relic weapon quest but I am having trouble finding any kind of reliable information on what to do at endgame.

All I understand at the moment is that you:

1. Complete your Class story and get your blue (artifact?) gear.
2. Finish your story and unlock the HM Primal fights.
3. Farm Tombstones for gear (is this better than the blue class gear? What is this gear called? Darklight?)
4. What tier do the relic weapons fall into? Are the best weapons? Do you need them for raiding?
5. Where are the raids? What do you need to unlock them? What level of gear do you need to start them?

Ok first off, you can't look at gear by just blue, purple, green etc. Some greens can easily be way better than any blue! The current best gear in game is Allagan gear and AF +1 for equipment and or Penta Melded Lvl 70 gear (Vanya,Gryphonskin etc) Weapons will be Allagan and or Relic+1. All raid/dungeons are unlocked through NPC's. Try exploring Vesperbay and Dragonhead, and you may find a npc that allows you to get some of the dungeons after completing certain tasks.

Relic weapons are the best weapons available. +1 being a tiny buff to it. Relic weapons require beating all 3 HM primals. So yeah, you won't be getting relic anytime soon. Grind tombstones for better gear and get a primal weapon if you're lucky.

Weapon

2. Relic
3. Primal (Garuda's is the best one of three)
4. Grand Company

Equipment
1. AF2 (need allagan tombstones of mythology)
2. Darklight (need allagan tombstones of philosophy)
3. Amdapor Keep loot
4. AF

Crafted equipment can be better than AK with melded materia but it's really not worth the effort.

So that is currently it? Farm dungeons for tombstones (do you hand those in for Allagan gear?) while working towards the relic weapon and hoping for a Primal weapon to drop?

Where is that 24 man raid they talked about before launch?

There's the Coil of Bahamut after you finish the HM primals. Content that doesn't improve your gear, it's just meant to give you a challenge after you've acquired the best.

Alternatively you could:

Level all DoH and DoL to 50 while speed running Amdapor Keep

Triple meld your crafting AF.

HQ all iLvL70 craft-able gears using tokens and penta meld them.

That will give you a slight edge in certain armor slots, noticeably the accessories.

So no new tier of gear from Bahamut? Lame, lol.

We'll also be getting a Crystal Tower raid and housing down the line.

Oh, another question. Do the HM Primals drop armour or just weapons? If so, what armour?
