I have a 2 jobs in crafting both at similar levels. I have gear that would benefit both jobs. When I put it on one and save the set, I switch to the other and its "missing".
I hope there is a easy workaround on this that I have missed. Any help would be great, thank you in advance.

You need to save you gear set in character setting then open that list and pull the icon down into your bar and when you change over to next job rinse and repeat, after that use those icons to jump between each job.
After saving the set, try unequipping the piece of gear, then switch to the profession set that you also want it on and equip it. Then save that set. I think that worked for me 2 days ago...
The piece should be saved on both sets i think.
If that's what you meant. Try it and let me know if I was imagining things.
I have this problem only it happened to me just by switching back and forth to check gear although I had done nothing, added nothing, and in fact had not moved from the spot I was standing on. I did notice that I may have had duplicate gear and this may have confused the issue....still working on it ;)
I haven't encountered this problem. I just equip my gear and add a new gear set to the list if it's the first time i'm gearing that job. You don't have to set it to a hotbar, can still just change by opening the gear set list on character screen. I've got 2 crafting jobs with the exact same gear right now and no problems.
Actually I did encounter this error one time once I upgraded my ACN book and sold the old one, then tried to switch to SMN and it wouldn't. I just had to manually put the soul gem on and then update the SMN gear set.
