Some <insert bad word adjective> players decide to pull and then /leave the Duty to kill the whole party thus wiping them all (ie. Ifrit hard).
There's also some kinds of the same players, who decide to instantly leave the duty because there's no (unnecessary) mage in the party to LB3, thus screwing another 7 players again.
The first can obviously be fixed by disabling /leave during combat.
The second is about punishing more players who leave. I think 15mins for leaving is good enough, however, leaving in a reiterated way should increasingly punish the player more (for example, the 2nd time in a row you leave, 1h penalty).

well if someone want to leave during the fight even if he can't he will just kill himself or stand there watching u guys fighting so no benefit of disabling the "leave"
while the penalty 15 min is okay but not increase to 1 hour, because sometime u have to leave if u tried like 5 or 6 times and some people just not skilled enough, so u will have to leave but i don't have to wait 1 hour because i left the dungeon because some party members not skilled to clear the dungeon -

He could just stand there, that's true, but at least it doesn't wipe the whole party on purpose (but not him).
Having this option makes stupid people WANT to do it, if it wasn't possible, they wouldn't think about it so fast.
Increasing the penalty to 1hour is fine because you shouldn't leave the party because you think someone is not skilled, it has BARELY happened to me and I've run MANY dungeons (leveled to 50). Even if that happens, the probability that it happens multiple times in a row is not likely, if it really happens, either you are REALLY unlucky, or your sense of judgement is way off (which I think is the case). -

I had that happen when i had the 90000 error yesterday. It kicked me out mid fight in Stone Vigil's first boss, and when I logged back in, I was out of the dungeon instance and couldn't get back in. So I ended up leaving the party that I was stuck to. And that got me slapped with a wait for the DF. So increasing the penalty to 1 hour will really be bad in this instance.

Ifrit Hard: This wouldn't happen to of been the tank in the other forum would it? You know, the one who was bashed on repeatedly for no reason at all when he asked if the fight changed from 1.0 to 2.0. Called ebayer, etc, and so he quit at 5% because he was sick of the bashing at the start? lol

Just no. We have got to be able to function socially in these games to some extent. When we dont, annoyance and frustration should be felt. You should be able to identify behaviour you dont want to enact, and people you differ from and feel good about not being like, you should be confronted with it regularly. - This handholding through game mechanics, are short sighted bandaids, that only steer us toward mmo's where noone accepts any personal responsibility for behaviour, and noone feels any ramification for being socially insensitive, inconsiderate or sociopathic. There should be less crutches helping us and more avenues where we are forced to consider eachother and come up with strategies to alleviate or fix this type of behaviour.
Get rid of the cross server matchups, and the anonymity it ensures, and give each server a chance/shot for real community building. We trade real community and game longevity (the two are tied) for convenience, and it is a poor choice we have made.
