We duo queued as DPS, we're pretty well geared for non-legacy (average item level over 60), and Titan could hold threat off of us as going all out as long as we gave him 5 seconds to pick up. He was able to tank all three bosses and trash.
Particularly, I could AoE trash without him losing threat. I cannot do this with any tank, no matter how geared.
Why is this? Do tanks just lack strong AoE threat tools?
Flash is strong early game, but later on when dps actually gets really strong tanks need to tab thru targets to keep hate up, a lot of people dont utilize the agro meter located in the party window under the class symbol, it svery useful for a tank establishing aoe agro, this takes more time than a tank has against strong aoe dps like SUM in some pulls, just give him another GCD or 2 depending on the tank you are with

Like you said Yenn... You give Titan a good 5 seconds before you open up your AOEs.... do you give PLD/WAR the same courtesy?
I tab target the entire fight on multiple pulls using shield lob, flash and 3 weapon skills that I rotate through, but there are some people (haven't grouped with you before) that like to open up a fight with their strongest AOE or Burst attack before I have time to establish hate.
Titan can tank better the most tanks, especial PUG tanks, because most tanks in this game are HORRIBLE. But this can be said about any role. Summoner pet AI is just better then your average pug player's intelligence. Its got to the point for me that I encounter so many horrible people in PUGS that I will go and FATE grind until I can get together a FC group to do the dungeon and progress the story line without any headaches.
You have crap tanks a skilled warrior should have no excuse to lose aggro unless you have a healer spamming group heals instead of single heals (I have meet one that did this and the hate generated miss unreal) or when you lose hate for a second then regain it. Overall your tank sucks not that the pet is better.
Most of the time, tanking multiple mobs becomes a delicate balance of timing AND distribution. In most 3+ pulls, I cringe around the time I'm tabbed to #3 praying that I can get back to #1 with a threat ability before the DPS pulls it away. And this is with judicious use of flash and/or overpower in between.

i tryied some times in instances to get the agro off the tank with Titan. If the tank is normal/good, it is impossible to do more aggro than a tank. If the tank sucks then yes, Titan can Tank...
Does Titan run out of TP? I can hold aggro perfectly fine with overpower and flash until I run out of TP and mana.
Exactly. If DPS opens up out of the gate then they deserve to get the crap beat out of them. In any MMO you have to give the tank time to generate hate.Quote:

If the Tank dies it's the Healers fault.
If the Healer dies it's the Tanks fault.
If DPS dies, it's their own fault.
