Was crafting a vintage hoplon and got this...

1st time after so many crafts so wondering whats the effect?:confused::confused:

A few synths are aspected to a particular element. The ones where you take a damaged item and convert it into a vintage item always do that, though they may not be the only ones.

The only affect of it, is that your progress gains are cut in half. These synths are what the "Brand of [element]" abilities are for. One of the help windows addresses this, though there are so few recipes that do this, most people don't understand what the help window is trying to say.
