When attempting to meld a tier 3 craftsmanship cunning materia CP+3 onto my HQ weaver trousers i discovered a bug. It recognizes the tier 3 materia but shows the stat as tier 1. It also contradicts itself by saying that the catalyst required is grade 1 carbon matter when its already said its tier 3.

That may be due to equipment level versus your materia level. For example, if you try to put two CP+3's on an item, the second one may not go through fully due to the first one and the item level. There has to be a noticeable gap between the item and materia level to get the maximum value out of it.
Hopefully that makes sense. Although the red text over CP+1 should be present.

I had the same bug happen to me as well. Although attempting to meld it without the proper catalyst ended in my character stuck in the kneeling/craft animation. With no way to get out of it, except a force quit. (which then lead to the dreaded server is full thing lol)
how about the fact melding a tier4 to a lvl 70 item will give u +0. because it says the items lvl is to low. but the catalyst and matiria say there for lvl 70 items. so can someone please explain why if thats what there for then why do the items register as to low to max the potential of the meld?
