But I feel like the login issues could have alleviated with a few simple fixes days ago and that Square-Enix is using the issues to get players hooked.
#1: Not enough servers: Pretty obvious.
#2 No auto logout: With the other issues, this is really what makes the whole thing a mess. SE has made a system that rewards never logging out. That is really the only way you can get good time in right now.
#3: Queue is too small: When you do get the realm list loaded up (no small feat), you are stuck spamming it until it actually places you in a queue. EVERYONE should be placed in a queue. Doesn't matter if it is 1000 players long. It will reduce login spam.
No logout> Realm fills up > No queue > Server List gets bogged > No play
They train you to log in over and over.
Well done Square Enix. The only way to play the game right now will get you hooked in no time.
I believe that SE had incentive to launch like this and like a reasonable business took advantage of it.
Maybe I am just cynical.

How many MMOs can launch before "Underestimating the size of the playerbase" becomes the standard?
Full Realms = Social Proof.
Not being able to log in = Scarcity
Free Play time (The next step) = Reciprocation.
They will let this go on just long enough to get a hardcore base hooked. And THEN let casual players actually play. People who never log out have few(relative) issues playing right now. And nobody will remember it in 2 months. I *DO* think there is incentive for MMOs to have launches like this. I think you overestimate the number of players that will quit because of these issues.
