To prevent people from burning themselves
It's unreasonable to expect people not to temper themselves against the game and SE while spending dozens of minutes, even hours trying to login in your game every day.
In my humble opinion if you want to be fair, you should just take down the servers for extended maintenance until they are ready to handle the current amount of users attempting to login. That fairness will result in people not rage quitting the game never to see anything with the SE name attached to it again.
- Functional queue system - we shouldn't battle through errors to login, we should just get something like "you will login in 10 hours".
- AFK ejection system - unlimited AFK is basically a maximum capacity reduction, benefiting those who can keep their computers turned on 24/7 with a stable connection.
- Free server transfers - this way people can move to new or low population servers without sacrificing their progress.
