AFK Adventures

SE has already stated that they are going to release new servers this week to maybe soften up the other servers so people can actually play the game and not encounter 1017 a million times a day. Well, this is a stupid idea. What will opening new servers really accomplish? Do I need to remind everyone what happened when SWTOR opened a million servers around their launch time? I will tell you, the game died down in a few weeks and all of those servers they opened around launch time now became ghost towns. The same will happen with this game, it is inevitable.

I decided to make a little adventure for myself to check out why half the people i know cannot log on to this game at any given time. I visited 3 separate sanctuaries (Wineport, Camp Tranquil, and Horizon) and counted out any AFK players i could find. While the number may not be exact, i just wanted a rough estimate of how many people in these 3 areas alone are screwing the rest of the community and not allowing others to play.

First was Wineport, 31 players sitting around the Aetheryte shard along with another 15 scattered throughout the rest of the area. Second was Camp Tranquil, throughout the entire area I managed to find 55 players sitting around doing absolutely nothing besides hogging up server space. Last on my list was Horizon, with a whopping 88 players being mesmerized by the Aetheryte crystal so much that they find themselves unable to logoff. Total that is 189 AFKers i found in a 20 minute period in 3 random sanctuaries. Looking at this in another way is 189 players who continue to be frustrated because they cannot play a game they paid for because you(SE) refused to implement an AFK kick timer.

I understand that 1.0 sucked at first and nobody wanted to play your shitty game, but that time is gone. This is the time to show everybody how great your game is and to try to make a mark on the MMORPG genre, not lock people out of your servers so you can cater to the thousands of players wasting space and frustrating what could be your future community. My rant is over, its not as if i can do anything to fix your stupid mistakes. Fix your game quick though, cause nobody is going to be interested in a game buried with all the rest of the MMOs that couldnt make the cut.

the reason you have so many afkers is there to afraid to log out in-case they cant get back in its as simple as that

Whenever I log in, it's "Oh, good! Now don't log out. Ever." I still log out. Someone else who's been trying for as long as me to get into the game should get the chance to play, too.

From New Gradania - Horizon. Every sanctuary seems to have at least 20+ afkers just standing around with thumbs up their arses. it'd be nice to see some people log out for once. TBH i'd like to see a force log out if you're afk for more then 15 mins. I think it would ease up congestion, allowing other people to play. If this keeps up I really can't see myself renewing my 30day subscription until this is fixed

Fanboy 1.0 all you want. Im aware 1.0 was fixed during the end of its lifespan. Im not talking about that though, im talking about the release of the game

AFKers are a symptom of a problem and not the problem itself, although they do feed into the existing problem. You can get mad at them all you want but so long as there continues to be an issue, people will try to route around it. That is the very nature of us; adapting.

Why are you starting another thread, if there are 8+ threads about the same complaint just on the first and second page of the general forum...
