Weaponskills and Auto attack

I have a dilemma. My friend tells me that using a Weaponskill resets the auto-attack timer. But as far as I can see, my auto-attack still happens at it's normal time whether or not I use a weaponskill.

One fact to consider, as the Skill Speed stat that lowers the refresh timer, which doesn't affect auto-attack, which would meant that it is a useless stat in the first scenario.

Who is right? Am I loosing DPS just because I use Weaponskills too fast, or am I safe to use as much weaponskills as I want when the refresh timer finishes?

It doesn't reset your timer.

Skillspeed is the most useless affix in the game, excluding Monks.

Weapon auto-attack is based off the auto-attack speed on your weapon, and damage is calculated off the Weapons Auto-Attack Damage.

So, does that mean that I can use skills after skills without detriment to my DPS?

Right. Your autoattack animations don't have as high of a priority as your Weaponskill animations, so you won't often see that, but the damage is applied as normal. There is no point to not use Weaponskills during a fight.
