A more accurate statement woul be
"Welcome Americans AND EUROPEANS to the Canadian Servers"
In the server transfer emails they originally sent out, Ragnarok was listed as NA/EU, and I opted to switch to it. Fast forward to Early Access, I log in to find it's solely identified as EU and a whole lot of folks are speaking German and French. Sent an email asking to be moved back to my original server, as I only transferred because it was listed as NA/EU. It's been 6 days and no response.
As an American, I'm not trying to steal your server! They just won't let me leave. ;__;
I Guess they don't teach geography anymore in school last time i checked Canada is in North America...
now on the to the EU part maybe they should have separate servers located someplace in europe.. i'm sure most of you don't know where that is but you can google it.
Distance between Montreal and Europe is 5504 KM (kilometers) and 794.94 meters. Montreal is 3420.5 miles away from Europe.
Montreal is location of NA/EU servers just for those who have not yet learned reading comprehension 101.
That doesn't change the fact that the labeling of the server attracts certain players, and that can create language barriers. On Ragnarok, a majority of the FC/LS advertisements I see are in French or German. The server being in Canada makes absolutely no difference in that regard.
