Been trying all day to login got into 3-4 queues but still get 1017 out of them, and the worse one of all is when it stays on the loading screen for 10-15seconds making you think you finally got in then they kick ya in the balls with the 1017 error......
I need something for my rage, i dont want to break my monitor, taking a huge breath and staring with hatred at the square enix logo is working for the time being but i feel my limit coming....
Since I can't even get to 1017 errors (awaiting delivery of physical copy), I keep my "gaming" time busy by reading sites like eorzeareborn, ffxivguild, and xivdb - to plan out what I'll do when I can get back into the game. You can browse hunting logs, think about which cross-skills you want to use for what builds, brush up on stat priorities..
Or just walk away from the computer when you realize you're doing work in anticipation of fun. Close the launcher entirely and do something completely unrelated to FFXIV. It's definitely frustrating.
Uninstall the game. The only way to get you away from 1017 currently.
