Quick question about ARR...

Do we still have access to our Path Companions from 1.0? =O I mean, I dig the fact that my chocobo is pecking the crap out of everything I bump into in Eorzea now, but my sultry Miqo'te mistress...Will I ever see her again?

The Retainers are still available. I had to "Re-Obtain" them, due to the fact that the character customization had a complete makeover, which was cool because I was able to make the Mithra even more sexy than before.

I had access to 2 retainers in 1.0, so I was able to re-make 2 retainers. The cool surprise was that they both had both of their inventories already full from when I was stashing items there in 1.0. Also had a nice amount of gil as well because I had stuff up for sale all the time. The game saved the data, so everything will be there, you just get the option to recreate and design your servant.

They will be part of the story at some point, but not yet and not in the capacity that they were in 1.x.

Makes sense. One of their primary purposes in 1.x was to make it possible for those with no battlecraft classes (strictly DoH/DoL) to do the storyline quests. Since in 2.0 everybody has to start out as a battlecraft class and level it to 10 before they're even allowed to see a DoH/DoL class, there's not a need for it in the capacity it had in 1.x. You're expected to level a battlecraft class to see the storyline now.
