Carbuncle pet

Hello! dont know where I could put this question so I put it here is it possible to keep carbuncle instead of getting one of that ugly fire or rock things? someone told me if you dont use job crystal but thats no resolution for me cause I dont want to weaken myself just for artstyle^^


Just repeat it Im not playing this class if its not possible to keep carbuncle as pet without beeing weak!

Carbuncle and the Egis have similar attacks with similar functionality, except the Egi attacks are a more powerful version.

The only way to 'keep' Carbuncle as a summoner is to not complete your class quests. You will be at a severe disadvantage if you do not complete your class quests because they also offer you new abilities and armor.

You can continue to use Carbuncle as an arcanist, but the arcanist pets will not have the same damage output as the Egis.

It is in your best interest to use the Egis.

A summoner can still summon carbuncle in addition to ifrit, titan and garuda. On the other hand, fairies replace carbuncle for scholar.

I will stay at my Monk-path than maybe when I want to try healing class I look for the fairy type summoner, love classes with pets but not if Im forced to change appearence to one I dont like =)

When you learn how to summon Ifrit, you get a 'new' spell: Summon III. Summon III is a melee DPS.

When you learn how to summon Titan, your Carbuncle (Topaz) is replaced by Titan, which is called by Summon II. Summon II is a tank.

When you learn how to summon Garuda, your Carbuncle (Emerald) is replaced by Garuda, which is called by Summon I. Summon I is a caster DPS.
