WAR-MRD not DDs?

So WAR or MRD are not DDs? i've been lvling MRD to lv30 to get WAR thinking WAR is a massive DD...

Nope. They're tanks.

They're DDs with enmity and higher def armor

If you turn off Defiance, and use Marauder instead of Warrior for cross-class buff, Marauder is just as good as Dragoon in dealing damage. Plus if you build full strength, I think Marauder can be even better than Dragoon.

No just no, not even close. They are pure tank and nothing else. Their damage is nothing compared to the real dps and all their skills generate large amounts of threat.

dont think so as WAR am sure DRG have batter DPS even without the Defiance buff

coz maybe the damage dealt by WAR is higher but when it comes to DPS DRG is sure much higher

MRD with cross class skills can put out some respectable DPS. i don't think it's really going to compare to a true dps class though, since most of the MRD/WAR gear is itemized towards tank stats instead of all-out DPS.

they're definitely tanks first and foremost, but since their kit and style of tanking differs so much to GLD/PLD they happen to have some significant damage to boot.

Its going to be incredibly apparent that MRD/WAR is not a viable DD/DPS when playing around in PvP. Id hope for a Druid to be a TANK/DPS hybrid before i attempt to make WAR a DD.

i know it doesn't, that's why i said id HOPE for one before i try to make a WAR a DD.

Should I have said Id hope for a SAM or MUSKETEER to be tanks before i try to make a WAR a DD?

either way, you can try to make a WAR a DD/DPS class but if you're comparing yourself to the rest of the DPS focused classes, it will fail in that regard because its stats and gear is focused towards tanking and how it tanks.

If you're comparing the damage output to similarly built PLD, sure the WAR will output more damage. But its going to be worlds apart if you're comparing a WAR to a similarly built MNK or Dragoon.
