low fps
my specs are :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
AMD Radeon HD 7970 gigabyte
my specs are above the Recommended but when i run on Recommended settings i still get verry low fps in towns.
world: 40-60 fps
when i see a town or inside it: 20-25
instance: 80+
its so stupid when it drops so badly when you see a town will there be a solution for this? i should be able to get higher frames.

It's an optimization issue. It could be an issue with AMD or it could be an issue with the game's programing or both.
-
well i wish a had a option to set of shadow but there isnt..... and when i do everything on low it makes the game look so bad
-
I know I know... I suffer as you do.
Alas there is nothing we can do until either SQEN patches the game or AMD releases a better driver software.

I have the same problem my friend :)
i7 3630qm
16gb DDR3
7970m running 13.8 Beta 2 which is supposed to increase FPS in FF XIV
I can run it on maximum but with the same results as you. At least if the desktop variation of my card is having the same issues I can def blame it on optimization :P , unfortunately were going to have to wait for eithe AMD or Square to finish optimizing it properly :(
My desktop 6950 gets the same results as well haha.....oh well. For now I run it on Laptop and Desktop high and it seems fluid and smooth and vysnc capped at 60 so I will just leave it there for now but it is aggravating because I know it can go higher without any problems. My GPU's are not even 100% when running the game :(

do you also have a problem with the grass it kinda looks like it tearing its moves when you stand still but when you walk it makes a changing view if you understand what i mean
-
yeah i can also run the game max settings in world and instance. yeah we will have to wait
-
No problem with the grass that I can recall but the shadows that are cast down from the canopy looks really....off.....like not fluid at all.
