FFXIV:ARR stops working

I have not found anyone getting the problem that I'm having the way and I'm getting it.

I can log into the game just as well as anyone else. But I get " Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." at random while I'm playing the game. It doesn't happen due to alt+tabbing like some people have been getting. So why is this happening to me? I did build this new computer last week. My old computer played FFXIV with zero problems.

Windows 7 x64
Geforce GTX 660 Ti (latest driver 320.49)

I've tried running without admin and with admin, getting C++, Java, and made sure windows was up to date.

Try re-installing the client.

I get this error when I'm trying to get back to the game after using the Alt+Tab combination to check something else on the PC. The game crashes and I have to load it all over again (with the 1017, queues and everything you can imagine attacking me).

I'm having the same problems as you, and reinstalling the client hasn't helped one bit.

this is usually due to something on your pc conflicting with the game. i would check that all drivers are up to date and also if you have an anti virus, make sure its not one that conflicts with certain games, i have had anti virus programs cause serious problems with some games. but this is definitely not caused from the game its self i am certain of that so i would start with the suggestions i have made and see if you make any progress with that.

Though it may not help I re-installed the game client. I also got the latest audio driver for my system. Once I get past the full server, I'll test it out and see if the game randomly stops working again.

I've had the same thing happen twice to me now, too.

I almost get the feeling though it has nothing to do with your hard- or software. I have been running the game smoothly without a single crash every day since launch. Suddenly, when the stress on the servers gets worse during weekend prime time hours, I get it twice (once on saturday evening, once today a few mins ago), both times while inside an instance. Seems more like a connection problem provoked from the server overload that ultimately happens to crash your entire client for whatever reason. Too bad crashing at this time of day usually means no more logging in for the next 5-6 hours, so might as well enjoy the day outside, come back tomorrow.

So far the game has not stopped working since I tried those last few things. Maybe the problem is gone for good.

I cant even get past the launcher and I'm getting that error. Out of nowhere yesterday my game just stopped launching. I patched nothing, changed nothing about my computer, etc. I've reinstalled twice now and it hasn't fixed anything
