gathering mats from mobs?

well i am currently a lvl 44 fisher and i started to wonder if my lvl 40 mythril gathering armor (which is pretty decent) has any effect on getting mats and HQ mats from mobs all classes can equip it. anyone test this out yet? i was tempted to whack some lvl 10 mobs with my reel just to see if it would but i am to busy trying to reach 50 atm.

I've killed dozens of things with my high perception gear miner and haven't gotten a single hq mat drop.

o well it was just a thought well i am defiantly going to make leather worker my last crafting class to lvl up
