1017 Error -- Shouldn't there be a timeout for users logged in?

I keep getting a 1017 error. I know people that log in and keep their spot by not logging out. If someone is standing there for like over 1 hour, maybe there should be a timeout to force them to log out. I've seen plently of games have this 'idle timeout'.

On another note, I feel like there are no retries for connecting to the server lists. This is why people get 'cannot connect' even when they're up. Shouldn't there be some sort of timeout for this too? Or is there already but it's incredibly short?

There is, SE is "looking" into this apparently new technology of afk kicking, like this is some new thing they have never heard of and the boys in the lab need to draw up blueprints for this.
