Constant Crash to Desktop on Windows 8

Hello.

I am looking for any info or assistance on FF14 constantly CTDing. My current desktop is currently a little over a week old, and since the early release last weekend, the game frequently closes (usually within 1-3 hours). I haven't been able to isolate the problem so far, and the only message I get is "The program has stopped working." Has anyone else been having this issue? I've tried many different things to resolve the problem but so far to no avail. As of now, this seems to be the only game on my computer having this issue.

Im having the same problem on Windows 7. Did you get digital download copy?

This happened to me in the beta quite a bit until I figured out what was going on. I'm running Windows 8 x64 on a fairly high end PC. This error for me was caused by a faulty graphics driver. I downgraded from a beta driver to the stable release and all my crashing problems went away. Give it a try.

What's your Video card? If it's Nvidia Update to the Beta drivers. the same thing was happening to me on a windows 8 Machine running SLI and Single card mode. Otherwise your issue sounds like a Memory leak problem, I.E. Mismatch or the Memory and the MoBo are in conflict.

Video card is Geforce 660.

Current driver is the 320.49 WHQL. I haven't tried any beta drivers yet, though I will give their most recent beta a go. I downloaded the game from the link provided in the EA email.

Latest and greatest drivers aren't always the answer (remember how XI would respond sometimes). Just saying... been running stable on my laptop (GTX 670MX) with the 307.07 release.

Double check background processes. Make sure you aren't getting any weird pop-up messages and such at the time it crashes (more a potential issue if running true full screen).

Also, monitor your system's temps too--hot spots around your GPU, RAM, or CPU can cause really strange behavior. So make sure you have good airflow in and around your system (especially in the summertime).
