Cannot aquire gil from retainer

NPC name: retainer summoning bell

Class/Level: Arcanist 27
Party or solo: solo
In-game time:
Area and coordinates: Ul'dah Inn Room
Steps:
1. clicked summoning bell inside inn room to check on retainer(s)
2. was getting gil off retainer using keyboard
3. tried clicking withdrawal and game stopped responding all together
4. had to use CTRL+ALT+DEL in order to close game and reboot

Connection Specs
I use a wireless internet connection that has worked fine for years, including all of 1.0
PC specs I'm not sure of
