Understanding
I havea few questions to test my understanding of this game...
The design is to have one avatar complete all the game so the side quest and such are not repeatable on new toons on the same world or is it account?
one avatar can level ALL classes to 50 given enough time FATEs levequests and hunters log work?
you can max level all crafting and gathering guilds given enough time and mats?
you can hold any job so you can tank one dungeon heal the next then be ranged DPS in a third?
the last question I have is I'm lvl 20 gaurd should I be working on my cross class for paladin now or try and get to 30 first?

Yes to all your questions, one character is allowed to level all classes so you are able to switch your role at anytime you wish to (of course not during dungeon).
Personally I like to level my main class to 30 first before working on my sub-class, unless you have cross-skill that you want to get early.

A: all content will become re-available when you create another character, but not when you switch class. just think of your character as someone in real life: you could change your job from being an accountant to a firefighter, but if you have completed the quest of helping Mr. Smith for fetching food for his wife, you cant complete the same quest again; on the other hand, if you create a new character, then you are a brand new person, so all content will be reset again.
A: yes, as explained above.
A: yes, as above, meaning you could be the jack of all trade and master of everything.
A: yes, as above.
A: it's up to you. some ppl like to get to high level asap; some ppl like to experiment with everything. note, however, when one of your classes is higher in level, your other classes which are of a lower level receive exp boosts, which i believe is in tandem with the difference in your highest class level and the level of the class you are currently lvl-ing.

You can actually have advantages by levelling up your classes somewhat together, as you sometimes find hard to find foes for the Hunt Log and they can benefit both classes, but many prefer to level up to 30 and then come back and do the secondary class to 10 or 15, i found my secondary class so fun i plan to keep going with it. Enjoy no matter what, no rush.... so much to see and we only see it for the first time once. :)
