1017 - An origin information request
Hey all you moderators at there,
Myself and I'm sure many others would love to know the story behind how the 1017 came to be an issue at all. Considering that this is a reboot launch, that the mmo market has been around for awhile, statistics abound, etc. It seems very peculiar that we had these issues at all.
Being that this heavily reflects your organization I'm sure we'd all like a little more than 'we apologize for the inconvenience, we appreciate your consideration' a.k.a. the same semantics employed by any company in such a pitiful situation with it's clientele. We all know it's a routine response that simply amounts to nothing at all.
I understand that companies generally silence their employees on matters such as these, but is there anything at all you can share with us? I'm just looking for something to justify speculating on ever being able to get on the server tonight (or the weekend?).
Thanks in advance for your consideration, which I so appreciate, and I of course apologize for any inconvenience such consideration may bring you. :p
Just to be clear, no one is looking for a scapegoat (hopefully), just a little bit of integrity.
Omnioussilence your reply is groovin'
I really appreciate Yoshida's response and further appreciate him being the scapegoat to the public (which works very well, him being the most untouchable to us having managed a great game).
But I feel it was probably really a decision of upper-management to gamble on limited server spending. It makes no sense that they wouldn't accurately count the amount of orders and track traffic. That information is probably the most important to an mmo company before launch.
Anyway my anger is quelled. Thank you Yoshida.
