Free Company Guide/Manual #Fail

I love the Free Company theory, but by design it is failing slowly.

We have very little information on how to operate or use the features to our benefits. Everything is left to wing it as you go along.

There is no official description of chest permissions.
The permissions given are ineffective, it's either add/take all or add/take none.
What is the purpose of company rank?
Why are the company crest so small on gear?
Why is their no command to add users to the company among party invite, send tell and send friend request?
Why is Free Company operations not included in the game manual?
Why does only the Grand Company in which the Free Company was founded rise in allegiance?
Does the 24 hour period between switching Free Companies still remain? It should, to prevent members from spamming companies for buffs.
Where is the real customization?

Since I can't start a new thread...this might be the best place to ask this. If I have a Free Company petition & want to nullify it in order to change it's tag, will I be able to pick the same company name? Any help on this would be much appreciated as I don't want to risk losing my company name.
