Chocobo companion doesn't appear when summoned.

So a couple days ago while questing with my chocobo it despawned from the timer. No big deal i use a green....but it doesn't come out. That's simply it, I've tried relogging, entering and exiting dungeons etc since then but over about 20+ greens used at varying times(and making sure I'm where it can actually be summoned) it has never appeared again. I can still ride it, but when summong it for battle it just doesn't show up anymore.
