Players with a Legacy Chocobo may not be able to receive their GC chocobo. I finished Ifrit fight, joined the Twin Adders and kept completing quests for the company. I have not been offered a quest for a chocobo, or an option to buy one.
If i open my companions tab, i see my old company chocobo's profile. I know it's my old chocobo from 1.0 because his name is on the info window. However, i cannot summon him. When i try to use the summon ability with ghysal greens, i get the message "You have not learned this action"

Visit the Calamity Salvager NPC and see if you have the old chocobo whistle there.

I did get my old chocobo whistle; that's how i have my Legacy chocobo. What I am unable to obtain is the 2.0 GC chocobo that can be summoned to fight with you. The whistle has nothing to do with that.

no i got my whistle from the Calamity npc, and it summons the legacy chocobo/ i dont think i'm missing anything, but its possible. i have heard other people reporting this issue though

Sorry, seems I misread a little.
There is a quest My Feisty Little Chocobo at... Camp Tranquil I believe it was.
Have you checked there? -
