Well, I've finally gotten the updater to consistantly download at 60~72 kb/s (at this point, I'm not going to be picky about how fast it's going, just that it is going.) The bad news is I had to disable my firewall in order to get it to do so.
Obviously, I can't turn the firewall off every time I need to run an update, so I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who knows how to set it to the correct ports. I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.
disable the kaspersky firewall and run zonealrm. It asks me in a pop up window if I want to allow a network access and whether this will be temporary or permanent. antivirus firewalls tend to be rather lacking compared to standalone firewalls.
open Kaspersky go setting at top right hand corner in setting click green shield at top left corner click firewall find squire enix in the list go to check mark across from it right click and set it to allow.
ok, thx. I'll have to wait till the next update to see whether it works, but I appreciate the assist.
