Carpenter Help

Lv 50 Carpenter wanting to try and tackle getting Control 255 and Craftsmanship to 275... any legacy players got any good tips? :X

Depends on what you have/want to spend.

Get a NQ/HQ Patrician set, or try to go for NQ/HQ crafter AF. Militia Offhand in NQ/HQ is really really good as well! Fill the rest with Materia.

You don't need to have triple melds, but doubles aren't too hard.

The only stuff I care about is the best-of-the-best, so here's the materia stat caps for the best HQ gear you can equip as a DoH. Also note that all DoH AFs have the same stats, and their materia caps are the same as well, so this applies to all DoH classes.

Mainhand: Can't meld the best Lv50 mainhand tool. Go do your class quests, you lazy sod!

Offhand (HQ Militia): 19 Craftsmanship; 7+ Control; 3 CP

Head (HQ AF): 4 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 0 CP
- Optimum meld: Control IV, Craftsmanship II, Control I

Body (HQ AF): 16 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 0 CP

Hands (HQ AF): 4 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 0 CP
- Optimum meld: Control IV, Craftsmanship II, Control I

Legs (HQ AF): 1 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 3 CP
- Optimum meld: Control IV, CP III, Control I, Craftsmanship I

Feet (HQ AF): 1 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 3 CP
- Optimum meld: Control IV, CP III, Control I, Craftsmanship I

Waist (HQ Raptorskin Mrch. Purse): 3 Craftsmanship; 5 Control; 3 CP
- Note: Since this is not lv50, it doesn't accept tier4 materia.
- Optimum meld: Control III, CP III, Control II, Craftsmanship I

Neck (HQ Electrum Choker): 3 Craftsmanship; 3 Control; 5 CP
- Note: Since this is not lv50, it doesn't accept tier4 materia.

Ears (HQ Red Coral Earrings): 3 Craftsmanship; 3 Control; 6+ CP
- Note: Since this is not lv50, it doesn't accept tier4 materia.
- Alternative gear: Achievement award for doing 5000 supply quests for your GC (CP+32 Spiritbond+1, unmeldable)

Wrists (HQ Militia): 4 Craftsmanship; 4 Control; 6 CP

Rings (HQ Aetheryte Ring): 4 Craftsmanship; 4 Control; 3 CP



For the OP, my WVR hit 350Craft/330Control before I even melded any of my accessories, so it's easily doable if you know people who can crank out HQ gear and/or melds.

I had no idea that you get AF gear for DoH/DoL. Thanks a lot for the info! :D
