Level/Grinding ideas or locations?

Hello,

Several of my friends just joined the game today. They are going to level up to the first dungeon or so. I am pretty new to this game and remember reading that it is pretty grind friendly. Any recommendations on how to grind with my friends? We are not really into quests and would prefer this method of leveling if possible.

Can you grind the dungeons over and over or is there a better place?

Also, since I am so much higher of level then them will that make it difficult?

Any help or insight on effective grinding as a group from level 10+ would be great. Thank you

Grinding FATEs is the way to go.

I think what your going to have trouble with is finding camp like areas to pull to, this game was not realy built around grinding like ffxi. I am sure you can find something by looking around though, I am interested as well as I prefer party grinding also as dumb as that sounds. I miss the concept of just hanging out to chat and kill stuff rather than run through dungeons over and over.

Yeah you can do dungeons over and over again as many times as you like. Also killing monsters in a party makes exp earning quicker as you all receive exp from kills your party does. If you decide to go partying make sure all your levels are within 5 of each other.
Also Guild heist are a good way to level up. Their like mini dungeons.

exactly ^^ this is the type of mmo i prefer and so do my friends. i guess we will just grind the dungeons over and over again and do near by fates. running all over waiting for random fates to spawn sounds just the same as doing quests. i know there are some spots already known for high end level 50+ grinding but was not sure if any existed for say....20+

I would just look around way off the main roads that people are doing quest related mob grinding, maybe run around the map edges and Im sure there will be some decent camps to be found.

roger, that being said...for that to work i would need to wait for them to catch up to my level range correct? right now they are not even level 10 yet.

Well unfortunately I feel as though you will get stuck if you do not do a lot of quests. You won't have the Airship, Class Progression, Dungeons, Mounts, idk probably more. This is a quest driven game for the most part, though it is grind based for all your GC needs(fates).

The true joy of this wondeful game is the story, so you will miss out on the life and spirit of it all. You can certainly achieve a lot by doing what you describe, tho i have come to really not like the slang words for these things much, grind is such a simplistic term and makes it seem like work rather than fun. You can certainly find areas to hunt for dangerous critters and you will see areas of the game world have higher level ie very dangerous things in them..but it is so much fun to explore and not know what is ahead of you i hesitate to encourage anyone to publish menus for easy playing or bypassing the discovery. But to each their own,..and with threads and topics we can pick and choose like we can all pick and choose our way of play. I just hate to think you will miss out on a lot of wonderful things in the story, and the things others have mentioned you can only get thru certain quests. Have fun no matter what and enjoy this is a marvelous game.
