Receiving New Items that are Already Damaged

I started a Conjurer Class last night and recieved items in quests that were already damanged and I could not use....even tho they were marked Level 1. . Leather items at first and then even a Tabbard. I didnt like running around in my underwear. I could not find a leather worker to fix them or a cloth worker..

Why does this happen? and where do we find those specialized workers? i looked all over but not even in the Leatherworkers guild did i find any one to fix them.

Any help on this appreciated.

Conjurer might not be able to equip those items. No items in the game require repairs to be able to be equipped, even if they are at 0% durability. Are you sure the gear isn't just damaged but just has a special name?

Also if you sold your level 1 gear, there is a vendor in every town that sells each race's level 1 gear, just look around.

Pretty sure you are wrong because I too have been given quest rewards that need repairs before they can be equipped..

If that is true, there are repair NPCs in every city's Market Area. They are on the map, they have a hammer icon. I'm guessing these items are to direct you and teach you about the repair NPCs.

This must be a new thing for release, as these items were not in previous beta phases when I did starting quests.

If you mean the Merchants and Menders, they wont help fix these items. IF there is another vendor who does more that will be fun to look for.

Yes these were items that i was given as choices in Quests so I assume they would be workable for this class of they would not be offered to me. At least I hope so. If this is a bug it is a good one to discover, if it is a feature it is fun to have something new to look for. I love the Conjurer class and plan to level it up to the top along with my Gladiator :) thanks for the nice posts.

Thanks Estellios, I am on a different world server but would have been fun to meet you at the Conjurers' Guild, i do love the work we get to learn and do as Conjurers..and Gridiania is sooo beautiful, i am in awe of the wonders if it all

Quest rewards are not class-specific, and that's not a bug. Here's why.

Let's say I've got MRD to 30, and I switch to GLD to start leveling that. I've saved most of my MRD gear, and can just reuse that on GLD. So when a quest reward pops up, I don't need the chain/plate gear. I can instead take the cloth reward for when I decide to go level THM or CNJ or something.

Ah that explains it, ....i was not sure but if that is the case then i will just save things for other classes and a rainy day. I am hoping once my work starts in Crafting my inventory will not fill up but i have barely used the first page of it to far as i was dumping or selling eveything but see that it will be better to save things not needed right away. thanks..

i still wonder if there IS a leather worker to fix things. :)
