I thought I remember reading somewhere that FFXIV team were intending to create an app for iOS and Android. Did I just read a rumor or is this correct? If it is, does anyone know when we might be seeing its release?

I remember reading that as well. I think they said a couple of weeks after launch.

Excellent. I've been hoping for that. More ease of access.
The mobile web interface is actually pretty good. Can always pin a link to your home screen and use that for the time being.
