When I open the launcher, the play button is missing from the top right hand corner. Instead, I'm seeing what looks like a web browser that shows the bing search engine with the term account-gate square-enix in the search bar and that's it. I've tried restarting the launcher and restarting my PC. I was able to login fine last night, now it doesn't work.

Bumping thread since im getting this as well. tried restarting pc and restarting launcher. Was playing game normally, got disconnected, tried to log back on and encountered this problem.
Have you guys tried updating your web browser? Or if your browser updated itself, try rolling it back to the most recent version? I'm going to assume the launcher uses Internet Explorer...
All my internet browsers are up to date and set to automatic updating, and this issue just started out of the blue while playing. No updates were made in the timeframe between it working and not working

Happened to me about 30 mins ago while I was in CM. I see the exact same thing as the image posted earlier on my launcher.
Looks like there is a connection issue with the auth. You can try changing dns and see if it gets fixed. It might be an ISP issue.
